Public
DataWeb was founded in 1999, following a successful three year research project
funded by the EC, targeted at identifying real
needs of the public in adoption and usage of digital services.
We specialize
in providing complete turnkey managed solutions for delivering information
services on touch screen kiosks and over mesh Wi-Fi
Networks. Public
DataWeb have deployed large urban kiosks networks in the
UK: Sheffield and Aberdeen, as well as in major European
locations, providing a wide range of content: Council and
Government information, City What's on Direct information,
Job vacancies, Tourism and Transport information etc., as
well as free Internet access and free video email and
SKYPE services. The
Umbrella kiosk is our latest addition in our outdoor kiosk
range, and is a fine example of outstanding street
furniture design. We
have extensive experience in e-voting - the kiosk network
platform in Sheffield was involved in the past three local
elections, as voting terminals for the general public. In
the past years we've
been involved, as main partners, in a few major European
projects, tackling e-government and e-inclusion issues,
therefore we are confident we bring very good experience
in any international consortium or city wishing to provide
validated services for the public. Since
2005, we extend our company expertise into deploying
Metropolitan Wi-Fi Mesh Networks and Wi-Fi services for
mobile devices. Both
Sheffield and Aberdeen kiosks have been Wi-Fi enabled,
providing a 24/7 free Wi-Fi Internet and free 'What's On Direct'
pilot service for
mobile users. |
