DataWeb provide a unique mobile Wi-Fi City Information
service, which can be used over any suitable Wi-Fi network.
The
Wi-Fi City Content service collates all the live and current
entertainment available in the city with local council
information, transport, tourism, shopping, accommodation and
restaurants details and customise it for usage on any mobile
device or Wi-Fi computers.
The
service is flexible and can add other categories of
information: job vacancies, other agencies, police information (CCTV video footage) etc.
The
Wi-Fi City content is individually tailored to the users
need (OS version, device browser version, input
capabilities) and to fit their wireless device screen:
PDA’s, Mobile phones, PC’s and laptops. The
What's on Direct mobile application is
designed as a ‘thin client’, running in the Internet
Explorer browser and it is optimised for minimal bandwidth
usage.
The
service is ready to be published on the Captive Portal of
any Wi-Fi mesh network. The Captive Portal (or Splash Page)
is automatically displayed as the entrance Portal in the
Internet browser of any device accessing the Wi-Fi network.
The
What's on Direct Mobile Service is up and running in
Sheffield and in Aberdeen, Scotland.
