Public DataWeb
kiosks usage statistics are recorded in real time, and are then collated and analyzed regularly.
The chart shows a typical one month network usage and usage distribution, from a small random selection of kiosks.
The statistics break down, displaying usage by
context/categories/sub-categories.
The average time spent by one user per session is approx. 4.5 minutes.
Average time taken traversing links to exact need, i.e. a job category, is 5 seconds.
Weather plays a big role in the kiosks usage - winter months and holiday periods reduce access.
Umbrella Kiosks
statistics
One
major factor in collecting usage statistics over many years shows
that when we introduced the Umbrella kiosk design, the kiosks usage shot up!
With far less kiosks in Aberdeen, the usage on our new street kiosks rapidly
exceeded the other designs. We believe this is due entirely to the
open access design.
