The kiosks are responsible for a major percentage of hits on the city councils website so fulfilling the objective of producing a real open access citizen service. A public website provided by a city has a missing service link if most citizens have no access, whether due to financial position or ability and computer skill.

The Public DataWeb kiosk service fills this gap.

The usage figures prove this:-

Statistics from each individual kiosk are gathered automatically and sent to the network server. The information gathered can be quite detailed and an example of this is shown at the end of this page. The general statistics give time and date stamps of each separate use of the kiosk, pages, navigation types and websites visited. Duration of each session, Smart Card used? Printer used etc.

Average usage varies depending upon kiosk type and location.

Some examples are:-
Outdoor: Sheffield
Bus Shelter:
Fargate:
Angel Street:
And in the major streets of Aberdeen.

Indoor:

Pubs
Swimming Baths
Hospitals
Tesco

Doctors surgeries

Chemist shops

Sports centres

Specific target user statistics:
